Nikephoros

Nikephoros (b. AD null). co-emperor (r. 741–743). Son of Artabasdos and Anna. Soon after his father seized the throne, he was given command of Thrace as its strategos and then raised to junior emperor. His share in power ended when Constantine V regained the throne in 743: together with his father Artabasdos and with Niketas he was paraded in humiliation in the Hippodrome, blinded, and shut away in the Chora Church.
