Terms of use

last updated July 2026

Kinlight is offered free, as an archive to read — one optional paid print aside. Using it means reading it on these terms.

The heirloom print

The heirloom print is a digital A3 PDF, drawn on your device and unlocked by a purchase code (€3.99 for one print, €9.99 for three codes). Each code is valid for one export. Payment is processed by Stripe; the code arrives on screen the moment payment completes, and by email if you ask. Because the print is delivered immediately, a completed export is not refundable — but if a code fails to arrive or to unlock, write to us and we will make it right.

Use of the archive

The archive is for personal, educational and research reading, and for keeping family books of your own on your device. Links and brief quotations are welcome with attribution to Kinlight.

Accuracy

Every entry on the family-record shelf is drawn from the public historical record — facts grounded in britroyals.com, Wikipedia and the public record, with portraits from Wikimedia Commons. The myth & saga shelf retells legendary genealogies (Hesiod’s Theogony and the classical canon, via Wikipedia) — myth, not history, and the ancient sources themselves disagree. We make no warranty of accuracy or completeness, so verify before you rely on anything here.

Portraits and sources

Portraits are served from Wikimedia Commons and remain under their own licences, credited in each person’s record. External links lead to sites we do not control.

Our work

The site’s design, code and prose are © Kinlight. The underlying historical facts belong to everyone.

The books you write yourself are another matter: everything you put in your own book — names, stories, photographs — is yours, remains yours, and never becomes ours. It lives only on your device, and Kinlight claims no rights in it whatsoever.

No warranty

The archive is provided “as is”, without warranty of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we accept no liability arising from its use.

Contact
