Anchises
Generation IV · Herdsman-prince of Troy
A prince of the Trojan royal house, Anchises was herding cattle on the slopes of Mount Ida when Aphrodite, made to love a mortal by Zeus's design, came to him in the guise of a maiden. She bore him Aeneas, warning him never to boast of the goddess who had shared his bed; in his old age it was his son who carried him from the flames of Troy.
