Generation VI · Fire-breathing hybrid of Lycia
The Chimera was a fire-breathing patchwork of beasts — a lion in front, a goat's head rising from her back, a serpent for a tail — who scorched the countryside of Lycia. The hero Bellerophon, riding above her flames on winged Pegasus, brought her down; her name has since come to mean any impossible composite creature or fanciful dream.
