Chrysaor

Generation VI · He of the golden sword

Portrait of Chrysaor

Chrysaor, whose name means 'golden sword,' sprang from Medusa's neck alongside his winged brother Pegasus when Perseus struck off her head. He is remembered chiefly as a link in the chain of monsters: by the Oceanid Callirhoe he fathered three-bodied Geryon. After that the record falls silent — myth never tells his end, so his deathlessness stands unrecorded rather than disproven.
