Generation VII · The thread through the labyrinth
Princess of Crete, daughter of Minos and Pasiphaë, Ariadne gave Theseus the ball of thread that led him out of the Labyrinth after he slew the Minotaur — and was abandoned by him on the island of Naxos. There Dionysus found her and made her his bride and an immortal, setting her wedding crown in the heavens as the constellation Corona Borealis.
