Generation IV · Thunder, the divine forge
'Thunderer,' eldest-named of the three one-eyed Cyclopes of Hesiod, smiths whose single round eye sat in the middle of the brow. Imprisoned first by his father Uranus and again by Cronus, he was freed by Zeus and repaid the favour at the forge, hammering out the thunderbolt that won the war against the Titans. His name is the boom itself, the sound of the weapon he helped create.
