Mnemosyne
Generation IV · Memory
Titaness of memory, the power that held all poetry and history in an age before writing. Zeus lay with her for nine nights in Pieria, and in due course she bore nine daughters, the Muses, each an art made flesh. In the underworld lore of the mystery cults, a drink from her pool let the dead keep their memories, the mirror of forgetful Lethe.
