Nereus
Generation IV · Old Man of the Sea · The Titans
Eldest of the children Gaia bore to Pontus, Nereus is the kindly, truth-telling elder of the waves, famed for fair judgment and a gift for changing shape. With the Oceanid Doris he fathered the fifty Nereids of the calm sea. Heracles once had to wrestle the slippery old god through form after form to make him reveal the road to the Hesperides.
One of 53 people of The Titans in this archive. Kronos and his kin, who ruled until their own children threw them down.
Line of descent: Chaos → Gaia → Pontus → Nereus.
