Phoebe
Generation IV · Bright intellect, the Delphic oracle
The 'bright' Titaness, a goddess of luminous intellect and prophecy who wed her brother Coeus. Aeschylus tells that she held the oracle at Delphi in her turn and gave it as a birthday gift to her grandson Apollo, whose title Phoebus keeps her name alive. Through her daughters Leto and Asteria she is grandmother to Apollo, Artemis, and Hecate.
