Artemis
Generation VI · The hunt and the wild · The Olympians · Heroes & Monsters
Twin sister of Apollo, born to Zeus and Leto on Delos — first of the pair, by some accounts, and midwife at her own brother's birth. Goddess of the hunt, wild creatures, and untouched places, she asked her father for eternal maidenhood and a silver bow, and guarded both fiercely: the hunter Actaeon, who saw her bathing, was turned to a stag and brought down by his own hounds.
