Polydeuces
Generation VI · The boxer twin
The immortal half of the Dioscuri, Polydeuces was the finest boxer of the heroic age, sailing with the Argonauts and felling the brutish king Amycus in a bout. When his twin Castor was killed in a cattle feud, Polydeuces refused an immortality his brother could not share, and Zeus allowed them to divide it — spending their days together, turn and turn about, between heaven and the underworld. Sailors know them as the twin stars of Gemini. Zeus's son by Leda, twin to Castor who was fathered the same night by mortal Tyndareus. Granted immortality, he chose to share it with his brother, the two alternating between Olympus and the world below.
