Portrait of Thalia

One of the three Charites whom Eurynome bore to Zeus, this Thalia — her name means 'the blooming one' — presides over festivity and rich abundance, the flowering of banquets and of good company. With Aglaea and Euphrosyne she dances at the feasts of the gods, and the ancients credited the three sisters with everything gracious in art, manner, and celebration.
